After 10 years of dancing and two years of music and singing lessons, she auditioned for “Popstars The Rivals,” a TV show where the winning candidates went on to form a new girl band. Sharon won again, and together with four other girls formed the successful pop group, Raffish, who had a # 1 hit in the Netherlands with the single, “Plaything.” Eva Simons, now famous because of her hit, “This Is Love” with Will.i.am, was also a member of this group.

After seeing the success of the television show, “The Voice Of Holland,” Doorson decided to audition for the second season, greatly impressing judge Marco Borsato, one of the most popular singers ever to come out of the Netherlands.

Said Sharon Doorson, “You can definite my style as a mixture of pop and dance. I try to write beautiful songs with strong vocals and lyrics. I’ll also write my own songs together with well known composers as well as less known composers and songwriters. The important thing is the emotion behind the song.”
